The road to a state championship begins on Saturday for the Cañada College men's soccer team.
The Colts return to the postseason for the second straight season after they were named the No. 10 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs. Cañada is set to travel to No. 7-seed Cosumnes River College for a first-round game in Sacramento on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason game are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. Cañada enters the postseason with a 10-7-3 overall. Under head coach Erik Gaspar, the Colts finished fifth in the Coast Conference South Division with a 6-5-2 mark.
Cosumnes River wrapped up the regular season with a 10-5-5 overall record. The Hawks finished in third place in the Big 8 Conference with a 5-2-3 mark.
Cañada and Cosumnes River will be meeting for the first time this season. The winner of Saturday's contest will take on either No. 2 Santa Rosa Junior College or No. 15 Woodland Community College in a second-round game on Tuesday (Nov. 21).
Three wins are needed by the Colts to advance to the 3C2A State Championships on Dec. 1 & 3 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
