APTOS – Sophomore Kiichi Murakami tallied a pair of goals and added 2 assists to help lead the Cañada College men's soccer team to a 4-0 Coast Conference win at Cabrillo College on Tuesday.
The Colts won their second straight to improve to 8-4-1 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play.
After a scoreless opening half, the Cañada offense came alive in the second. Vlad Tomutiu opened the scoring in the 52nd minute off the assist from Murakami and Kosuke Kaneko.
Murakami extended the Colts' lead to 2-0 when he scored in the 65th minute with the assist by Daniel Schembri and Noah Lake. Fabrizio Garrido made it 3-0 with his goal in the 78th as Murakami posted his second assist.
And Murakmi closed it out by scoring in the 83rd thanks to the assist from Maceo Latimore and Carlos Baltierra.
Kaneko was solid in goal for the Colts as he totaled 8 saves to post Cañada's fourth shutout of the season.
Cañada returns to action on Friday (Oct. 20) when the Colts host Folsom Lake College in a 1 p.m. non-conference game.
