NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PLAYOFFS BRACKET
The 2023-24 season for the Cañada College men's basketball team will continue into the postseason. On Sunday, the Colts were named the No. 24 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.
Cañada will travel to No. 9-seed Columbia College for a first-round game on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason game at Columbia are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.
The Colts enter the playoffs with an 11-17 overall record and finished seventh in one of the strongest conferences in the state, the Coast Conference North Division, at 2-10. They are coming off a narrow 89-85 loss against No. 3 state-ranked City College of San Francisco on Friday.
Cañada returns to the playoffs for the first time since the 2018-19 season. That year, the Colts advanced to the regional finals and were a victory short of a trip to the state championships.
No. 9 Columbia wrapped up its regular season with a 23-5 overall record and were Central Valley Conference co-champions at 11-3.
The winner of Wednesday's match up will move on to a second-round game at No. 8 Sacramento City College (25-3) on Saturday. Three wins are needed by the Colts to advance to the 3C2A State Championships on March 15-17 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
