Colts rout Napa Valley to close 2023
REDWOOD CITY – Cañada College men's basketball head coach Eddy Harris will hope the play of his Colts squad will carry over to 2024. On Saturday, Cañada closed out the calendar year with an impressive 72-53 win over visiting Napa Valley College.
The victory snapped a two-game losing skid. The Colts head into the new year with a 9-6 overall record as they will now turn their attention towards Coast Conference opponents. Cañada hosts Cabrillo College on Jan. 5 in an interdivision matchup before taking on Chabot College on Jan. 10 in its Coast Conference North Division opener. Both games are set for 5 p.m. opening tipoffs.
Luca Joe Ewelt continued his solid play on Saturday in the win over Napa Valley. He posted a double-double with 14 points and a team-leading 14 rebounds. Sean Crowley scored a season-high 19 points to lead the Colts. Brylan Lundy totaled 11 points and 7 boards while Daniel Benjamin added 10 points.
Off the bench, Josiah Morris contributed 6 points and 7 rebounds and Asa Mobley chipped in with 6 points.
Cañada improved to 5-2 at home this season.
