Jekat, Kau advance in doubles to 3C2A State Championships

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS INFORMATION/SCHEDULES

The Cañada College women's tennis team will be represented by a pair of Colts at the upcoming 3C2A State Championships.

The Cañada doubles team of freshman Tara Jekat and sophomore Kathy Kau are set to compete at the state tournament that gets underway on Thursday (April 24) in Southern California.

Jekat and Kau will take on the Rio Hondo College duo of Kaitlyn Dominguez and Jennifer Diaz in their opening-round match at Oxnard High School. The match is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. A win would send them to the second-round later that day for a 5 p.m. contest.

The Colts' duo earned their spot at the state championships after a solid showing at the Coast Conference Championships that were held on April 10-12 at Ohlone College in Fremont.
