Colts earn first win, beat Ohlone 5-2
FREMONT – The Cañada College women's tennis team went on the road to pick up its first win of the season, a 5-2 triumph at Ohlone College on Friday.
The Colts suffered losses in their first two matches but were able to bounce back against the Renegades with the Coast Conference win. Cañada improved to 1-2 overall and in conference play.
Cañada opened the match by taking both doubles matches. The No. 1 team of Kiki Chou and Kathy Kau won 8-6 while the No. 2 squad of Paola Marchetti and Anahid Yeremian was an 8-2 winner.
The Colts closed the contest by taking three of five singles matches. Kau (No. 2), Marchetti (No. 3), and Yeremian (No. 4) secured the team victory with their individual wins.
Cañada returns to the court next week to take on one of the top teams in the state, West Valley College on February 25 in Saratoga.
