Colts take on No. 8 NorCal-ranked Foothill
HAYWARD – The Cañada College women's tennis team lined up against one of the top teams in the state on Tuesday. Despite putting up a solid effort, the Colts suffered an 8-1 loss to the No. 8-ranked squad in Northern California, Foothill College, at home.
Cañada earned a point at No. 4 singles by Julie Johnson after the Foothill College player was forced to retire. Vanessa To put up a fight at No. 6 singles before falling 6-2, 6-4 in her match.
The loss dropped the Colts to 0-4 overall and 0-4 in Coast Conference play. Cañada will take on another top team, Northern California No. 4 City College of San Francisco, on Friday (Mar. 22).
