REDWOOD CITY – The Cañada College women's soccer put an end to a two-game losing streak with a 2-0 Coast Conference win over visiting Cabrillo College on Friday.
The Colts improved to 7-4-2 overall and evened up its Coast Conference record at 2-2.
After a scoreless opening half, Cañada finally broke through in the second for the win. Emily Christman scored in the 55th minute off the assist from Celeste Calvo for what proved to be the game-winner. Rosa Charupe added an insurance goal, scoring in the 80th minute to secure the victory.
Cassandra Herrera and Jianna Nabung split time in goal to combine for the shutout, the Colts' seventh of the season.
Cañada is back in action on Tuesday (Oct. 22) when it travels to Hartnell College for a 4 p.m. Coast Conference game.
