APTOS – The 2024 Cañada College women's soccer season got off to a successful start with the Colts' 2-0 victory at Cabrillo College on Tuesday in both teams' season opener.
Freshman Justine Chetcuti recorded the Colts' first goal of the year to give Cañada a 1-0 lead just 10 minutes into the contest. The Colts took that slim lead into halftime and secured the win when sophomore Sarah King scored in the 71st minute.
The Cañada defense was solid, limiting Cabrillo scoring chances in posting the shutout.
Cañada, now 1-0, returns to action on Friday (Aug. 30) when the Colts host Lake Tahoe Community College at 3 p.m. in their home opener.
