SACRAMENTO – Jimena Sandoval's goal in the 30th minute proved to be the game-winner for Cañada College in a narrow 1-0 win at Cosumnes River College on Friday.
The Colts are 3-0-1 over their last four games and with Friday's victory improved to 5-1-2 overall.
The Cañada defense also limited Cosumnes River's scoring opportunities. Colts' goalkeeper Jianna Nabung needed to make just 2 saves to post the shutout, the squad's fifth of the season.
The Colts return to action on Tuesday (Sep. 26) when they travel to Los Medanos College for a 2 p.m. non-conference game.
