Colts Earn Post-Season Honors
Following the Colts' sixth-straight CCCAA playoff appearance, Canada was awarded post-season honors from the Coast Conference.
Midfielder Yara Gomez-Zavala was named the Coast Conference's Player of the Year, while Rachel Mull (offensive) and Giselle Guiterrez (freshman) were tops in their respective categories. Gomez Zavala, Mull, Guiterrez were joined by defender Natalie Mandolado and goalkeeper Jenna Vath on the first team.
Gomez-Zavala had 22 points with six goals and 10 assists, while Mull, a forward, had 17 goals, nine assists, and 43 overall points. Guiterrez, a midfielder, had 21 points thanks to seven goals and seven assists. Mull's 17 goals led the Coast North, while Gomez-Zavala (10) and Mull (9) ranked 1-2 in the Coast North in assists. The 17 goals and 10 assists were each top-16 in the state.
Vath had a 0.94 goals-against average with six shutouts.
Defender Madison Mandolado and midfielder Emmiko Kumura were named to the second team.
The Colts finished the season in the second round of the CCCAA Playoffs as the No. 11 seed. They finished the year 15-5-0.
