Bio

Joe Silveira, a distinguished figure in soccer both on and off the field, is currently making a significant impact as a coach at Cañada College, where he has served for the past two seasons. With over 20 years of coaching experience, Joe has excelled at the highest levels of professional and collegiate soccer. His storied playing career began with San Jose State and included notable stints with the San Jose Earthquakes and Jacksonville Tea Men in the NASL, as well as indoor teams such as the Phoenix Inferno and Phoenix Pride.

Joe’s coaching achievements are equally impressive. He has coached three teams to National Championships and led programs to a total of 20 conference or division titles. His career head coaching record stands at 573–255–79, and he has been named Coach of the Year 12 times. Joe’s ability to develop talent is evident in his track record of producing numerous All-Americans, All-Region, and Academic All-Americans, with a remarkable 98% student-athlete graduation rate at Notre Dame de Namur University.

Previously, Joe served as the Director of Soccer at Notre Dame de Namur University, where he was pivotal in building successful men’s and women’s programs. His extensive experience and deep understanding of the game continue to benefit Cañada College’s athletic department, where he remains a key figure in inspiring and guiding the next generation of soccer players. Joe holds a USSF National “A” license and Director of Coaching Diploma from NSCAA.
