REDWOOD CITY – Cañada College scored a pair of early, first-half goals which proved to be enough to defeat visiting Cosumnes River College by a final score of 2-1 on Tuesday.
The non-conference victory improved the Colts to 2-1 overall.
Solari Gomez opened the scoring with his goal in the 8th minute off the assist from Adrian Cano. Mikel Gonzalez extended the lead to 2-0 when he scored in the 17th minute with the assist from Chris Lopez.
The defense dug in the rest of the way to hold on for the win. CRC got its lone goal in the 73rd minute off a penalty kick. Luis Evangelista totaled 3 saves in goal for the Colts.
Cañada returns to action on Sep. 23 when the Colts travel to Merritt College for a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
