MARYSVILLE – Daniel Schembri scored in the 75th minute to lift Cañada College to a 1-0 win at Yuba College on Wednesday. The Colts have won consecutive games and improved their overall record to 4-2.
Both defenses played solid, limiting scoring opportunities in the contest. Cañada outshot Yuba by a narrow 4-1 margin. Schembri's goal, his third of the season, came off the double assist of Kiichi Murakami and Eion Crawford.
Kosuke Kaneko made the one save to post Cañada's second straight shutout and third of the season.
The Colts return to action on Tuesday (Sep. 26) at 4 p.m. when they open Coast Conference play at Ohlone College.
