REDWOOD CITY – Jake Skaggs posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds while Brylan Lundy also scored 18 points to help lead No. 20 state-ranked Cañada College to an 84-80 Coast Conference North Division win over visiting College of San Mateo on Friday night.
The Colts snapped a brief two-game losing streak and improved to 13-6 overall as well as 3-3 in a tough Coast North.
Cañada and CSM battled to a 44-44 tie after the opening half. But the Colts were able to outscore the Bulldogs down the stretch to pull out the victory.
Justin Moore provided a spark off the bench with 17 points. He was a perfect 10 for 10 at the free throw line. Darius Jackson added 12 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds.
Cañada returns to action on Wednesday (Jan. 29) when the Colts travel to No. 19 Chabot College for a 7 p.m. Coast Conference North Division game.
