Colts Win Two on the Road

After opening the season with 2 home victoires in their first 3 matchups, the Colts hit the road for two games and continued to find success.
On Wednesday Night, the Colts traveled to Salinas where they defeated the host from Hartnell College. In the first half, all coast conference guard Miles Jones hit 4 threes to help the Colts to a 9 point lead at the half. At the start of the second half, the Colts leaned on their defense to take control as they scored the first 11 points of the half and freshman Luke Mathiesen squelched any hope of a Hartnell comeback with his inside scoring.The Colts cruised to a 72-59 victory over Hartnell. Jones paced the Colts with 14 points and Mathiesen added 12.
On Friday night, the Colts crossed the bay to take on the College of Alameda. Clutch baskets by Daniel Benjamin and Brylan Lundy helped the Colts take a 30-22 halftime lead. The home Cougars cut it to 5 near the midway point of the second half but Sean Crowley hit a big 3 to keep Alameda at bay and finally help the Colts run away with a 71-52 victory. Luca Joe Ewelt led the colts with 14 point, 14 rebound double double effort. Crowley and Lundy added 12 points each and Josiah Morris chipped in 10 off the bench as the Colts once again had 4 players in double figures. The Colts are now 4-1 on the young season and head to Modesto on Tuesday, November 21st for their third straight road game.
