Colts Finish Year in Super Regional
Colts Baseball (24-20-1) dropped two straight on the first day of the CCCAA Super Regional, eliminating them from postseason play.
The Colts, who upset Merced in the CCCAA Regionals, lost 10-4 to Reedley in the opener, before falling to top-seed Santa Rosa, 7-5.
Roman Gambelin gave up seven runs in two innings against Reedley, as each team scored one run in the first and two in the second. Reedley never looked back after a four-run third inning.
Against Santa Rosa, the Colts went up 5-4 in the seventh off a three-run homerun by Owen Crevelt. Santa Rosa, though countered with a single run in the seventh and a two-run double by Jake McCoy in the bottom of the eighth to lead 7-5. The Colts did send the tying run to the plate in the ninth.
It was Head Coach Tony Lucca's ninth postseason.
