Former Colt Luca Joe Ewelt makes pro debut in Germany

Former Cañada College men's basketball standout Luca Joe Ewelt has taken his talents overseas to play professionally. Ewelt, a first-team All-Coast Conference North Division selection for the Colts last season (2023-24), recently made his professional debut for Basketball Löwen Braunschweig in Germany.

Ewelt is a double license player and has seen in action in both Germany's second division league as well as in Bundesliga, the top level of competition in the country.

He scored 2 points and had 2 rebounds over 5 minutes in his first game on September 30 against N.R. Ludwigsburg.

Ewelt, originally out of Leigh High School in San Jose, led the Colts in scoring (12.1 PPG), rebounding (9.4 RPG), and assists (3.3 APG) over 28 games as a freshman last year. He was also named to the Coast Conference All-Defensive team.
